You will not find a more beautiful place in the world to go on a road trip than in New Zealand. But how should you plan it? We can tell you about the best routes, sights and hidden places. We have tried it ourselves and are always available if you need help planning the trip - just write us.

3 tips for your road trip in New Zealand

  1. Stop often
One thing we can recommend is that you stop more often than you plan. New Zealand has so many hidden gems and interesting spots – your route doesn’t have to be followed strictly.

  2. Park the camper and go trekking
You are in one of the most magical countries the world offers, and it makes no sense to experience it all behind the windows of your camper. You must bring your trekking shoes and stop at some of the amazing sights such as Milford Sound, Rotorua and Franz Josef Glaciers.

  3. Be open minded
No matter where you travel in New Zealand, you will meet backpackers from all over the world, all of whom have the same mission as you: to experience the best of New Zealand. Be open minded and participate in the social activities!

Road trippin' the KILROY way!

What is road trippin’ the KILROY Way? Well, we always encourage our travelers to be curious. To open up, and to embrace the unexpected. Stop where you can, go down the narrow side street and don’t get stuck in the camper. Don’t just drive for the sake of driving. Approach new people. Approach new ways of doing things. Explore and be open to changes – that’s where the magic happens.
