Itinerary

Pu Luong Discovery

Day 1: Hanoi to Pu Luong 

In the early morning you will be picked up from Hanoi Opera House in a comfortable shared van in Hanoi to start your journey. You'll enter Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breathtaking mountain pass, offering you a panoramic view over the whole valley. Arrive at your accommodation in time for a delicious lunch, followed by some free time to explore the beautiful retreat with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting. 

In the afternoon, meet your tour guide and get a brief introduction before heading out and get closer to village life and interact with people living in the hills above the retreat. Get a glimpse of daily life, walk around working farmland and rice fields, and get to know more about the culture. Walk back to the retreat for a nice dinner after a day of moderate trekking (around 5 km.)

Day 2: Pu Luong 

After breakfast, start your day with a leisurely walk around a beautiful valley of rice terraces in front of the retreat. We descend into the beautiful valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Then we will continue through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque Uoi village sitting at the base of a towering mountain. Your camera will not be able to sit still when you see the panoramic view of the village from above! 

Continue hiking downhill to a home where you can take a breather before hopping on a bicycle to wander around the village of Lan. If time permits, we'll visit a family and learn about their traditional brocade weaving. Cycling through the rice paddies and between villages and bridges to explore more the scenic landscapes. You ??ll end the day in the village of Hieu where you'll have a chance to stop by a waterfall, the sole one in the reserve. Ride back home and board your vehicle back to the retreat. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure before a delicious dinner served at the retreat.

Day 3: Pu Luong to Hanoi 

After breakfast, start trekking from the retreat to Dong Dieng village, going down into the most beautiful valley in Pu Luong. Along the way, you will have a chance to enjoy beautiful terrace rice fields and gorgeous mountains. Take a scenic trail winding to have a look at the landscape of the rice field and the village, which were widened in your eyes. You will pass some homes on the way, you can come to visit any local family if you want, this is a great chance to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the locals. Count for about 5km of the hike today. It's time to get back to the retreat for lunch. 

By noon, you will be checking out from the retreat and drive back to Hanoi in a comfortable shared van with the challenging task of figuring out which activity has been the best highlight on your trip! Arrive back in Hanoi around 17:30 where your trip ends.
