Book a Gap Year Presentation with KILROY
Taking a gap year is a big decision. Which is why we're dedicated to helping students navigate the decision and practicalities, and get the most out of their big adventure.
We love connecting with students, parents and teachers to promote the benefits of taking a gap year and provide useful information on what it takes to plan a rewarding year abroad.
If you're a teacher or work in education and think your students would benefit from a gap year presentation, here's how we can help.

School Presentations and Events
There's no better way to connect than with an in-person event, which is why our team of travel experts visit schools and colleges around Bristol, Bath and Cardiff. We deliver informative, inspiring and impartial presentations and run engaging workshops to get students of all ages to start thinking about what they might want to do on a gap year.
Students will be shown what options they have for their gap year, where they can go and what they can do, how to start planning, and how to get the most out of their time away. We'll cover options including travel, volunteering, working holidays, language immersion and learning a new skill, such as diving or surfing.
Students will also learn about the skills they'll develop on a gap year, as well as how to budget and stay safe abroad.
Here are the types of events you can book us for.
Futures Fairs
If your school or college run Futures Fairs to present different options to students, invite us along and we can answer any questions students might have and bring along useful materials for them to take away and consider.
Gap Year Presentations and Workshops
If you'd prefer to hold a presentation or a morning or afternoon workshop, we're happy to work with you to design a bespoke plan to engage your students.
To give you some inspiration as to what's possible, we've held immersive workshops at Weston College in Bristol where students were tasked with creating a gap year itinerary, sticking to a set budget and choosing activities from a pre-defined list with associated costs.
The team with the most exciting/best planned journey were awarded a £100 travel voucher each to use with KILROY for their gap year. The workshop was a huge success with students and teachers!

"We changed the way Sixth Form Progression Week was delivered after feedback from last year, opting for a more interactive approach. KILROY's involvement was instrumental in making the event a success. KILROY's workshop had 100% of learners feel more confident understanding and relating their skills. Additionally, we had members of staff tell us learners were disappointed not to be able to participate in their session!"
Luke Penberthy, Careers and Employability Coordinator at Weston College
Parent's Talks
If you host information evening for parents and carers of students about options after Sixth Form and would like gap years to be part of the discussion, we can help parents see the benefits of gap year travel, understand what their child can do on their gap year, and provide tips on how to make the most of the experience.
Our presentation will be tailored to parents and address their concerns, provide reassurance of the benefits, inspire them with ideas of what's possible, and introduce how we can help with the planning process.
Online Presentations
If we can’t visit your school in person, we can arrange an online presentation as an alternative and include a Q&A section to make the event more interactive for students.
Request Printed Materials
Would you like printed materials to share with your students?
We can send you however many copies you might need of our Gap Year Travel leaflet that outlines options of what to do and includes an FAQ section.
