From the most modern cities in Asia, to the orangutans in the jungle on Sumatra, and the pristine beaches of the Philippines: this trip has some variety alright! You will see both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, massive cities with impressive skylines and a lot to see and do. After all this urban exploring, we'll take you to the very opposite of this, the Indonesian island of Sumatra. And it get's better, as the final leg of your journey will be a tour around the islands of the Philippines. Paradise on earth!

You start your dream adventure in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur. Famous for the Twin Towers, a bustling market in Chinatown and a great food scene. Stay for a few days before flying into Medan on the Indonesian island Sumatra.

From here you'll head deep into the jungle to try and spot some orangutans, highly endangered primates you can only see in the wild in two places on earth. The little adventure tour we've planned for you also takes you to Samosir island, in the middle of the volcanic lake Toba. It's one of the highlights of Sumatra, and the landscape is great for hiking and other outdoor adventures.

Continue to Singapore by flight, and once you get off the plane in Singapore, the WOW effect immediately kicks in. We don't want to spoil too much, but Changi Airport is really something, with a skytrain, waterfalls and much more.  And then you haven't even entered the city yet.

After some days in Singapore, you will travel on to Manila, the capital of Philippines, where you will enjoy a fair bit of island hopping. Some of the major highlights include Siquijor, Moalboal and El Nido. Beautiful lagoons, amazing beaches and lush forests. This feels like a real paradise to us. Throw in some boat trips and great food, and you've got the perfect cocktail to end your trip on.

Suggested itinerary Singapore, Sumatra & the Philippines

This itinerary is just a suggestion and can be customised to suit your unique travel plans. Make it longer, make it shorter. Add in the things you want to do. Get in touch with our travel experts to turn this itinerary into your dream trip.

Kuala Lumpur Culture and cuisine in the capital of Malaysia

Start your itinerary in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Check out the very impressive limestone hills that house the Batu Caves. As the giant golden Murugan statue outside of the caves suggests, some of the caves have temples or shrines inside of them. There are more temples in the city centre that are very insta-friendly, if you don't want to travel too much.

In Kuala Lumpur the food scene is incredible if you manage to find the right places. Close by the Twin Towers try out the restaurant Limapulo, recommended in the Michelin guide but extremely cheap. Malay food includes various forms of Satay (definitely try some different ones) and the popular Nasi Lemak consisting or steamed rice with various sides like chicken, sambal and fried egg.

Bukit Lawang Not just monkey business

From Kuala Lumpur you'll fly on to the beautiful country of Indonesia. Famous for Bali, but this Island nation has so much more to offer. Every island has its own unique features, and for Sumatra that is the lush rainforest that covers part of the island.

Deforestation has shown its ugly head here too, but in recent years the conservation efforts of the local communities are starting to paying off. Sumatra is famous for being one of only two places on earth where you can spot Orangutans, which you will of course try to do. The jungle is also home to Elephants, tigers and more, which you will explore from the small village of Bukit Lawang.

Lake Toba Climb the Sibayak volcano

Bukit Lawang isn't your only stop on Sumatra, you will also spent time at Lake Toba, a giant volcanic lake surrounded by stunning green hills and forests. Before heading to the lake, you'll stop in Berastagi, a mountain town close to the actual Sibayak volcano. You get the opportunity to climb it, and enjoy the most amazing views on the way.

After an adventurous day of hiking, we'll take you to the island of Samosir, in the middle of Lake Toba. After a good night of sleep, try cycling around the island. It's the best way to get around and see the most of your surroundings here!

Singapore Surreal metropolis with futuristic architecture

The city of cities, at least in Asia. An eclectic but wonderful mix of old and new, with an impressive skyline and the surreal Gardens by the Bay. The latter is a giant park, with architectural details like giant fake trees that perform an orchestrated light show every night. You've also got the indoor cloud forest, which is stunning but also artificial.

For some more authentic culture, head to Chinatown or Little India to get some of the best food you've had in your life. There's also a vibrant nightlife, so we're sure you won't be bored, even though Singapore itself is not the biggest city. We have included three nights here for you to see the major highlights of the city.

Manila Colonial architecture in this modern metropolis

After all those jungles and mountains on Sumatra, it's back to the big city for a few days. While Manila is seen as the gateway to the amazing islands and beaches of the country, it's pretty nice to kill some time here. Intramuros, the walled inner city takes you back in time a few centuries. Here you can see remains of the Spanish era, and it's a nice place to wander around.

The same goes for the Manila Cathedral (pictured), where you can learn a bit more about the strong Christian roots of many Filipinos. At the end of the day, Manila is also a modern metropolis for the most part, so it's a great place to do some shopping for your coming weeks of island hopping.

Island hopping in the Philippines Clear water and paradise vibes

This is the Philippines how you had it in mind, right? Gorgeous beaches where the jungle kisses the ocean, traditional boats, the best fish for dinner. This group trip takes you from Manila to Dumaguete, onwards to Cebu and Moalboal, then Coron and finally Palawan.

In between is a lot of cool activities, and we promise you that you will spend plenty of time near the crystal clear water. Make friends with your new travel buddies and indulge the beauty of the country when you visit some of most spectacular islands in South East Asia.

El Nido Cocktails by the crystal clear waters

The group trip ends in El Nido in Palawan. On the way here you have passed places like Moalboal (where you will try your hand at canyoning at the Kawasan waterfalls and snorkel with millions of sardines!) and Coron, and finally we'll take you to El Nido on a traditional banca boat. This is truly of the beaten path, exploring near-deserted islands and the prettiest sandy beaches on the way.

You'll sleep in a simple Filipino hut (just a matrass, shower and mosquito net) but your inner adventurer will love this journey. Get to know the local tribes and enjoy the freshest of food. This is the life, baby!

After a few days on the ocean, you'll arrive in El Nido on the Palawan island. More beaches, cocktails and chilling is on the program. Sounds like heaven! Find your own way back to Manila and catch the flight home.
