After arrival in Bangkok you start your Thailand journey together with like-minded backpackers. Meet the crew in Thailand's capital and enjoy the next week together when you travel from Bangkok up to Chiang Mai. You'll make stops in Kanchanaburi, famous for its nearby waterfalls and the iconic Railway of Death amongst other things, Ayutthaya where a majestic Buddha statue is found and Srinakarin Dam National Park where you'll be sleeping on a floating-raft.
Touch down in Chiang Mai where you'll have a few days together with your new friends before exploring the surrounding area on your own - we can help with accommodation if you need it.
This 6-day trip is for all the nature lovers out there. You'll be trekking in some of the most beautiful surroundings, rafting down rivers, spotting incredible wildlife such as elephants and monkeys, sleeping in both homestays and intent in the national parks.
You'll also visit Southeast Asia's highest waterfall, Thi Lor Su, and if the water conditions allows for it, you can cliff jump into the waterfall and cool down in the refreshing clear water. This part of the trip ends in Bangkok, where the next stretch is on your own.
We recommend that you take the train from Bangkok down towards Surat Thani. Khao Sok National Park is definitely worth a stop on the way, if you're dreaming of staying in the lush wilderness surrounded only by the nature. Phuket or Krabi are other popular choices in the South. From Surat Thani you can head in the direction of Koh Samui and replace the jungle surroundings with beach chairs.
Koh Pha Ngan is famous for it's wild Full Moon parties. Or half moon parties. Or just in general parties. We have included a 5-day stay in a hostel, including a fun Full Moon Party experience. Dance through the night and chill during the day. This is a great place to meet backpackers from all over the world, so make sure to charge your social batteries.
After some hectic days, it's time for you to explore a world that doesn't include buckets, colorful straws and dance rhythms through the night. Head on to Koh Tao where we have included a 5-day learn-to-dive course. You'll get a PADI certification upon completion and you will learn to navigate under the surface. The dive course comes with both theoretical and practical learnings and you can use your newly acquired diving certificate when you want to dive anywhere else in the world.
Take a day or two resting after your diving certificate and then head back to Bangkok where you can either choose to board the plane back home as suggested in this itinerary, or you can choose to continue your trip. It's totally up to you. Whatever your plans are, we'll make sure to plan accordingly.
