After landing in Cancun, we'll take you to Playa del Carmen to meet your fellow travellers for a day of sunshine and cocktails. There are plenty of bars and clubs, which are of course the perfect setting to make memories with new friends. Your first days here will be all about relaxation and enjoying yourself, although you can opt to see the Maya ruins at Tulum, or take a ferry to the nearby Cozumel.
In Belize the chill vibe continues, with a few days to spend at Caye Caulker, a small but laidback Caribbean island in front of the Belizean coast. Here you'll find the usual swaying palm trees, sandy beaches and blue skies. Snorkel with stingrays and nurse sharks, or just take it chill for a bit, up to you!
In Guatemala you'll learn all about the cultural influences of the Mayans, which are visible even to this day. Ancient cities, temple ruins and the dense jungle surrounding them. Once you make it to Rio Dulce, which is somehow both a town, a lake and a river, you'll have some free time to make your own plans. Bathe under a naturally hot waterfall or try kayaking during sunrise to spot the howler monkeys. Can't miss 'em - they're considered the loudest animal on the planet!
Last stop in Guatemala is the city of Antigua and its surroundings, the Guatemalan Highlands. Explore the city's great bars and restaurants, climb volcanoes or try your hand at windsurfing at lake Atitlan.
Your time in Honduras is short but sweet, with a visit to some of the most impressive Maya ruins in Central America. The colonial town of Copan is well known for its Mayan heritage, but there is of course more to enjoy here. May we suggest the a plunge in the tempting hot springs after a day of exploring? Also make sure to try some of the local coffee, as Honduras and especially the highland region where Copan is located is known for it's excellent beans.
In El Salvador you'll stay in multiple places. First up is Suchitoto, a charming little town where the vibes are good, the food is good... everything is just really good. From here you will travel on to the coastal region of La Libertad. Enjoy the sunsets with a nice cold drink in hand, go for a surf lesson, and enjoy the Latin American style of taking it easy.
If you feel for something a little more active, you can hike to some gorgeous waterfalls and treat yourself to some fresh fish at the food market. Life is good, ain't it?
Nicaragua has more colonial towns in store for you, with the lovely Leon and Granada on your route. Prepare to do a lot of walking these days, as it's your best way to get around town. We highly suggest to do a volcano hike in Granada, as the volcanic mountains are looming over the town from all angles and make for amazing pics.
Your final nights in Nicaragua will be on the rather picturesque Isla de Ometepe, in the middle of a volcanic lake. Here you get to make some local friends, as you will sleep with a local family in a small community on the island. You will join your hosts for breakfast and dinner, to really get a taste of how Nicaraguan families live. You're going to love it!
Time for the final country of your Central American journey: Costa Rica! Probably the most famous of all, and for good reason. The sheer amount of activities you can do here is unmatched. In both Monteverde and La Fortuna/Arenal you'll get plenty of free time to let your adventurous heart run wild. Zipline through the treetops? Check. White water raft down a river? Check. Horseback ride through the jungle? Again, check!
If you prefer to take it more chill there are numerous hiking trails, wildlife reserves or you can go paddleboarding, ATV riding or kayaking. When you've said goodbye to all of the travel friends you met on your group tour, you get to chill for 3 nights in Manuel Antonio before it's time to say goodbye to Costa Rica - or not... We bet you don't want to go home ever again!
