Touchdown Christchurch! You probably know this already, but New Zealand is home to some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world (no joke!). And you get to explore it all with your campervan that we've included for 4 weeks. Fill up the tank and drive from Christchurch on the South Island to Auckland in the North Island. What you want to see along the way is completely up to you! We can assure you that there are plenty of breathtaking experiences to look forward to. Milford Sound, Hobbiton, Rotorua and Queenstown are just a few places worth visiting. In need of more travel tips ? Talk to our travel advisors!
Jump on a flight to Sydney where we've included 3 nights at one of our favorite hostels. You've got a couple of days here to explore the city and its beaches. Besides Bondi, Manly, Narrabeen and Coogee are some of the best beaches in Sydney. Also, make sure to enjoy the sight of the harbor and the Opera House.
After three nights, it's time to pick up your next vehicle, a compact campervan you'll drive from Sydney to Melbourne. The route and stops are up to you, but Australia is massive so we're certain you won't run out of things to do. Surf, dive, swim or just relax on your journey down south. Enjoy!
When you arrive in Melbourne it's time to hand in the keys again, but you've got a couple of days in Australia left! Better make the most of it, and enjoy the city to the fullest. Wander through the laneways to discover street art and cute cafes, visit the Queen Victoria Market for local treats, and explore the diverse neighborhoods like Fitzroy and St Kilda. Don't miss a stroll along the Yarra River, a trip to the Melbourne Museum, and catching a game at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Bali, also known as "The island of gods" is a backpacker's dream. Want to know why? There are tons of exciting adventures, nice beaches, delicious food and other backpackers to hang out with. As a bonus Bali is a very budget friendly destination, which means that you can live a pretty good life while exploring the island. The airport is located in Denpasar, but you don't want to stay here for long. Instead, head to Canggu to feel the relaxed vibe and learn how to surf! We've included a 4-days surf camp where you get to learn how to ride the waves like a pro!
After a few days of surfing and good times you'll have free time to continue exploring Bali and the surrounding islands. Ubud is the place to be if you're feeling like doing some yoga and taking a swim in dreamy waterfalls. You can also take a boat out to the Gili Islands where you'll have the chance to go snorkeling with sea turtles or get your PADI certificate.
We also recommend that you head up north to Lovina, which is known for it's stunning black sand beaches and dolphin spotting. We'd say this place is highly underrated compared to Bali hot spots, such as Uluwatu (home to amazing beaches!). Do you want to explore the best of Bali with other backpackers? Just reach out and we'll tell you all about it!
That's all for now, but maybe you want to continue exploring Indonesia? The adventure doesn't have to end here, but if you feel ready to go back home, we have included a return flight in this itinerary. Talk to our travel advisors if you want help extending your trip!
