The Hi5 Camper is the biggest in the Travellers Autibarn fleet. It's still a compact vehicle and ideal for groups up to 5 or families who would like to travel around Australia.

Compact campervans like this which are taller (you can actually stand in it), roomier and full of features, can be very rare for backpackers and budget travellers looking to travel around Australia on their own pace.

The Hi5 Campervan can accommodate the following groups:

  • 4 mature adults; or
  • 5 young adults; or
  • 2 adults and 3 children

The Hi5 campervan comes with a large fridge, a microwave, sink and gas stove. Fully equipped for travelling and living comfortably in the outback, the city, or just down at the beach.

If you are 4/5 people with lots of luggage in the Hi5 camper, we do not recommend this vehicle – luggage space is limited!

Please note. The high season for campervan rental in Australia runs from October to March. The earlier you book, the better prices. When availability goes down, the campervans become more expensive. Don't wait too long to book!

Driving and sleeping

The Hi5 is a compact, yet spacious vehicle and simple to drive. It features power steering, power brakes and automatic. If you are not familiar with the steering wheel to the right and driving in the left side of the road, don't worry, it will only take you a short while to get comfortable. The front cabin seats 3 people and the back cabin seats 2 people.

There are two double beds in this campervan. The lower bed (width: 172 cm) is suited for up to 3 young adults or children. The upper bed (width: 137 cm) is for 2 people. During the day both beds folds away and a table pops up in the center. Up to 5 people can sit comfortably and enjoy a nice campervan dinner. Under the bunks you have space for luggage. Read more

Kitchen facilities

The Hi5 includes a living space with build-in kitchenette. Here you will find a sink with electrical pump (the water tank holds 35 L), microwave, 2 burner gas stove and the 57 liter fridge. A practical side table folds out when the side door is open. Cooking utensils such as cutlery and crockery are practically stored in drawers and cabinets. Read more

Rental Locations and one-way rental

There are six Travellers Autobarn rental centres in Australia: Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane / Cairns / Darwin / Perth.

It is possible to book free one-way rentals between the rental centers on the East Coast (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns). A one-way rental fee applies for one-ways to and from Perth and Darwin (AUD $300-700). Read more

The rental price varies according to demand and season. You'll get the lowest price if you book your Hi5 campervan well in advance when availability is high.
