This campervan is the perfect compact companion for up to 4 backpackers, thanks to its top and bottom double bed.
Please note. The high season for campervan rental in New Zealand runs from mid November to late February. The earlier you book, the cheaper. As availability goes down, the campervans become more expensive. Don't wait too long to book your New Zealand adventure!
The front cabin of the Double Down seats 2 people while the seats in the living space seats the remaining 2 passengers. It's a compact vehicle with automatic transmission.
One double bed is located above the drivers can while the other double is in the rear of the van. The rear bed can be transformed into a seating group for four people during the day. Part of the upper bed folds away to give roof for head space during the day. Under the bunks you have space to store luggage.
Supplied in the camper you will find linen and bedding, kitchen essentials including crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils plus all the general living gear you’ll need.
Don’t forget to pack soft bags instead of a suitcase – much easier to store in the campervan.
In the central part of the Double Down campervan and just behind the drivers cabin you will find the kitchenette. The interior height of this campervan allows you to stand up while cooking. The kitchenette is equipped with two gas stove burners, a sink, microwave, cutlery and cooking utensils, and a refrigerator where you can store enough groceries for 4 people.
There are three Mighty rental centres in New Zealand: Auckland / Christchurch / Queenstown.
It is possible to book one-way rentals between all the Mighty rental centres. A one-way rental fee applies (NZD $100-300).
Drivers must be 18 years of age or over to rent and drive this campervan.
The rental price varies according to demand and season. You'll get the lowest price if you book your Double Down campervan well in advance when availability is high. It's also cheaper to travel during low season. On the other hand, if you book close to your departure date or book your camper for high season, you'll pay more. It's just like flight tickets!
