5 Day Kruger Safari - Treehouse

Day 1

You are picked up from your hostel or the airport in Johannesburg. If you have booked an arrival package, your safari will start with one night in Johannesburg. Traveling through farmlands to the picturesque Lowveld, we reach Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule Section of the Kruger Park. Following a brief break, where you can unwind at the bar, take a swim, or relax in the tropical gardens, we embark on a 4-hour Sunset Drive aboard the open Landcruiser. Your guide will showcase a variety of animals and birds, utilizing spotlights after dark to spot nocturnal species. Cap off the day with an unforgettable BUSH BBQ at our Marula Tree Boma, followed by a Night Drive. Rest for the night in comfortable air-conditioned en-suite thatch-roofed chalets. (D)

Day 2

Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life. Drive to a remote part of the Balule Game Reserve, where you enjoy a 4h Bush Walk.

Your experienced field guide will lead you through the bush. The thrill of following Africa’s large animals until you can take a photo will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the presence of your armed ranger.

Please note children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the Bush Walk & will instead be offered a 4-hour morning Game Drive*

Lunch will be served in the Lapa at 13:30. At around 15:00 we go on an afternoon game drive.

Transfer to Marc’s Treehouse Lodge where accommodation is in fascinating and romantic treehouses. (B, D)

Day 3

Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger on a custom-built open-sided Gameviewer, offering unobstructed views and an immersive experience without intervening glass windows. Enjoy regular stops at picnic spots, restcamps, and points of interest as you witness the open plains of the Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions, attracting large herds of zebra, giraffe, and antelope, subsequently drawing many predators. This zone is renowned for having the highest concentration of lions in Africa. (B, D)

Day 4

Indulge in another immersive day of wildlife exploration as you embark on an extensive game-viewing adventure within the expansive landscapes of the Kruger National Park. Engage with the diverse fauna and flora, savoring the intricate details of this captivating wildlife sanctuary. Following this enriching experience, relish a delightful dinner and retire for the night in the tranquil setting of Marc’s Camp, allowing the day's memories to linger as you immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. (B, D)

Day 5

Commence the day with a Sunrise Walk, followed by a delightful breakfast. Travel through the Panorama Route to marvel at scenic splendors, including the Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon. Accommodation

1 nights' accommodation at Tremisana Lodge and 3 nights' accommodation in a treehouse or cabin at Marc's Treehouse Lodge.

Tremisana Lodge
Tremisana Game Lodge, boasts a total of 15 chalets and a two-bedroom guesthouse. Each unit is en-suite, and all are equipped with air conditioning. Every bed is adorned with its own mosquito net. While 24-hour WIFI is available to all guests, it's essential to note that, being in the heart of Africa's bush, WIFI signals may occasionally be intermittent, emphasizing the immersive connection with nature.

Marc's Treehouse Lodge*
There are three original treehouses, each without en-suite facilities but featuring private designated ablutions. These unique structures are either constructed in trees or supported by them. The remaining nine treehouses, while not literally situated in trees, are built on stilts within the tree canopy and are strategically placed in the gallery forest. Among these, three treehouses offer a picturesque view of an illuminated waterhole, often visited by our resident buffalo herd. The other nine treehouses are discreetly nestled within the gallery forest along the river. Every treehouse is furnished with beds and linen, provided with soap and towels, equipped with an overhead fan, mosquito nets, and boasts a wooden viewing deck.

Marc’s Treehouse Lodge has a swimming pool, a bush bar and a rustic boma where 3 course meals are served. After your evening meal, which always has a typical African flavour, you can relax around the crackling campfire and share your impressions of the day’s wildlife highlights and adventures.

*Please Note, there is limited tree houses at this lodge. So your booking might be in one of the cabins and not the tree house
